THE MISSION....Operation Blended, a 501(c)3 dedicated to serve veterans, families, and individuals with emotional support and financial literacy with the struggle of blending back into the home, workforce, relationships and society. At Operation Blended, we strive to provide resources to the people we serve as they transition at their own pace, back into the environment in which they thrive.

This year recipient of the "4th Annual Operation Blended the Mission Golf Tournament", Dr. Walter Sims.
WHO IS WALTER SIMS? Dr. Walter Sims a Birmigham native, a son, a father, a husband, a pastor, a mentor, a friend and soon to be cancer surviver. Unfortunately and unexpectedly, July 2024, Dr Sims at a routine doctor visit was delivered the results "NO" human being wants to hear, 'you have CANCER (stage 4 colon cancer). The cancer had metastasized to his liver and lungs upon examination and Dr Sims went right into six (6) rounds of chemo before surgery to reconstruct the colon and remove cancer from the liver. Shortly there after, July 2025 another six (6) rounds of chemo and second surgery to remove cancer spot from the lung. Dr Sims is currently finishing another and hopefully last seven (7) rounds of chemo is 2026. Dr Sims has remained positive and prayerful, with his caring wife by his side along with family and friends. As you can imagine this has taken its toll of the SIms family emotionally, physically and financially. If you're wondering why this tournament is held each year, the answer is simple--it's about making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
